  ♲   What is CPLA?
CPLA is fully compostable highly heat-resistant material made from molded cornstarch. CPLA, crystallized poly lactic acid, is a combination of PLA (70-80%), chalk (20-30%), and other biodegradable additives.

  ♲   Heat resistant
Through the crystallization of PLA, our CPLA products can withstand high temperatures of up to 100 °C/212 °F without deforming.

  ♲   Compostable
For our gold CPLA cutlery, a food-grade dye is added to create this premium color. This does not conflict with the overall composting properties of CPLA. This cutlery will break down in any water-saturated environment upon exposure to moderate heat. The ideal conditions for composting this product are 60 °C/140 °F and 90% water content.

  ♲   Biodegradable
PLA production is a popular idea as it represents the fulfilment of the dream of the cost-efficient, non-petroleum production of a conventional plastic alternative. The huge benefit of PLA as a bioplastic is its versatility and the fact that it naturally degrades when exposed to the environment.
